Linda Dong
Linda Dong is a Chinese filmmaker and multimedia artist who just finished her B.A. in Film and New Media at New York University Abu Dhabi, with a minor in Interactive Media. Her work investigates female agency, cultural dislocation, and psychological dissociation through surreal metaphors, experimental sound design, and visual abstraction.
Focusing on both directing and producing, she explores the gaze directed toward Chinese culture through a cross-cultural lens. As a cinematographer, she is drawn to lighting design and atmospheric storytelling, often working between China and the UAE.
Her creative practice expands beyond narrative film into photography, installation, and code-based media. Her multimedia works explore themes of intimacy and memory, often centering the female body.
